Cath Kidston
What we love…
- English heritage meets contemporary style at Cath Kidston, where the designer has created a lifestyle line of light and girly apparel and housewares, inspired by colorful vintage prints.
- Cath Kidston began as a small shop selling a mix of vintage and custom pieces she created that incorporated her love of vintage fabrics.
- The classic Rose Bouquet print was the first to make its debut in the Kidston store, it was used in conjunction with other vintage fabrics for bags and ironing board covers. The first shop also sold a range of vintage and customized furniture finds for the home.
- After ordering a batch of fabric that mistakenly came sewn into bed sheets, Kidston was forced to create smaller items that would take up less fabric. She created cushions, aprons, hats, and even swimsuits, this proved to be a success and was the introduction to the brands first full collection.
- The idea of vintage prints in feminine colors has always been the brands image, even after the store was purchased by a larger company. Today the focus still remained on useful, every day items that can be branded with the signature Kidston prints.
- The shop is friendly, colorful, and always playful with it's range printed goods. Although not many can pull off the head to toe Kidston look, it can be a bit 'Little House on the Prairie', a little hit of floral here or there can help put some romance back into your dreary closet.
