What we love…

• What's not to love?! FAO Schwarz is the toy store—the biggest, brightest and most fun you'll ever have browsing for toys. Kids go crazy in here, and will easily spend every cent in your bank account if you let em. Truthfully, even if you don't have kids it's tough to get out of this store without buying something as a gift, or maybe even for yourself.
• The fun starts at the front doors when you enter. The doormen are dressed up as nut crackers in full costume tall furry hats and all. Inside tables are piled high with giant stuffed animals, games, and colorful plastic toys. A lot of what you find at FAO Schwarz is high-end stuff, so if you're looking for a beautiful gift for a friends new baby, or a birthday or Christmas gift you're sure to find it more than one perfect thing here.
• Once you get past the tourists and hoards of kids on the first floor head up to the second to find the "big piano". If you're over 30 you might remember the piano from the movie BIG where Tom Hanks dances his heart out on it. You likely won't see anything like that on your visit, more like clumsy kids who can't carry a tune, but if it's not busy do yourself a favor and give it a try, because be honest, you know you want to.
