Zadig & Voltaire
What we love…
- Zadig & Voltaire is a French fashion label named after a famous French philosopher. We know what you're thinking, sounds intimidating right? Well don't worry, it isn't. The brand is all about fusing rock and roll with street fashion, and although that's the oldest story in the book, this brand has been doing something right, because it's dressing some of the most fashionable trendsetters all over the world.
- The brand was founded by Thierry Gillier, the grandson of Lacoste co-founder André Gillier, so it seems that good taste runs in the family. Don't get the wrong idea though, Zadig & Voltaire looks nothing like Lacoste. Where Lacoste is the ultimate in preppy sportswear, Zadig & Voltaire is edgy street fashion.
- The rock and roll inspiration makes a lot of sense considering the brands music label extension. The indie music label seeks young talent musicians that represent the labels attitude, and the music ends up being inspired by the fashion and vice versa.
- Men and women will find an assortment of distressed t-shirts and denim along with more luxurious fabrications such as leather and paper thin cashmere. The entire collection is a sea of black and gray highlighted with metal studs and sequins—essentially the uniform for in-the-know, urbanites looking for that chic rocker look. Since the prices aren't too steep it's become a favorite of twenty-some things looking for edgy separates that won't completely wipe out their bankroll.
