What we love…
- Scabal is famous for their custom dress shirts and made to measure suits, which are created from one of the 5000 high-end fabrics on their extensive fabric menu.
- Although this brand sits on Savile Row, Scabal is actually a German company founded in 1938 that settled on the row. It wasn't until 1991 that Scabal became really well known for their bespoke suits and custom clothing business.
- In 1989 Scabal purchased a garment factory in Germany, and began to create their made to measure (or ready-to-wear) suits and shirts, and Germany is still the home of the ready to wear factory and the brands head office. The fabrics however are all woven in England while most of the accessories are created in Italy, ensuring both craftsmanship and quality.
- Despite the popularity of the made to measure suit at Scabal their bespoke suits and custom shirts are still one of the main draws. A bespoke suit at Scabal is called the No. 12 suit, which is made to the exact specifications of ones body and cut and sewn using traditional methods. Scabal offers a number of custom details from buttons to linings and also allows the customer to have their name embroidered on the inside of the jacket.
