• Jack Spade (much like Kate Spade) got its start in beautifully crafted, utilitarian bags. The difference being that Kate is for women, and Jack is aimed at urban men looking for a functional yet tastefully designed bags.
• 1997 saw the first Jack Spade bag, which was sold to hardware stores for the working man with style. Since then the brand has grown to include a full line of masculine lifestyle goods. Not only can you find a wide range of backpacks, messenger bags, totes, and weekenders in a blend of leather and waxed canvas, you can also score the perfect button-down shirt, whimsical printed tie, or playful watch in a colorful hue. Although the details and finishes are luxe, the overall feel still manages to come off somewhat manly.
• One of the best things about Jack Spade bags and accessories is the long life span they seem to have. The label doesn't want to be associated with fast, throw-away fashions they want to build a product that works hard each day you use it, and looks better with age.
