Suck and Chew
What we love…
- Waking up early on Sunday for the Columbia Flower Market can be a little rough, and if your coffee isn't strong enough to wake you up consider making a stop at Suck and Chew for a little sweet rush to kick you into gear.
- This bright red shop on Columbia Road in London's East End is only open during the Sunday market hours, and can get pretty busy with people trying to get their sugar fix. Adults and kids crowd into this storefront to get their hands on an assortment of fantastic candy finds from vintage classics like toffees and bon-bons to licorice treats and coconut cakes. There's jars upon jars filled with sugary snacks, so there's a good chance that everyone you're with will leave with something they love.
- If you're British you'll likely recognize many of these candies from your youth, coupled with the nostalgic packing and the intoxicating smell of the shop, you'll probably have to fight the urge to buy up the whole store. The vintage candy makes great gifts, and since the packaging is already delightful you won't even need to wrap anything.
- It doesn't matter how old we get, we never get too old for candy.
