Pacific Coffee Company
What we love…
- Pacific Coffee Company is a Hong Kong chain that was started by a Seattle man named Thomas Neir in 1996. Neir set out to create an urban style coffee house with relaxing music, friendly staff, and of course, great coffee. Pacific Coffee Company is much like the coffee joints you're use to seeing in any western city, and given that Neir is originally from Seattle, there's a good chance he got his inspiration from one of the big coffee guys.
- Coffee shops, to-go cups, and super sized caffeine runs are a norm for us, so when we travel we always search out the best local places to get good coffee, so we don't have to default to Starbucks every few hours. Not that there's anything wrong with Starbucks, it just tends to be on the expensive side outside of North America. At Pacific Coffee Company you'll get similar quality coffee for around half the price, so making this your morning coffee stop can save you a few bucks.
- Pacific Coffee Company has been winning awards for their coffee for years in Hong Kong, and has grown so large that you can find several in each neighborhood, as well as in Macau, Mainland China and now Singapore and Malaysia. You'll find a full menu of western style coffee including organic coffee, espresso and espresso-based blended drinks, along with small bites like pastries and sandwiches. If you're traveling with kids order them a 'Babychinno", which is nothing more than steamed milk and a little chocolate or sugar, but kids love feeling grown-up with their coffee cup in hand.
- Although the hours vary from location to location, most of them open between 7-8am-10pm.
