L'Ecume Saint-Honoré

What we love…

  • We heard somewhere that the French eat more oysters than any other European country, and so it's not surprising that this poissonnerie in the 1st is always busy.
  • Now this tiny little hole in the wall might not look like much—actually it might look like a joke with it's awful under-the-sea wall murals, and ocean sound track—however it is said to have some of the best oysters in Paris.
  • While we haven't tried every oyster in Paris (a problem we are doing our best to remedy) we can vouch for L'Ecume Saint-Honoré having some pretty damn good ones. The oysters here are served in petit vin blanc, and are extremely fresh. And although the setting might not look high-end, the prices are actually kind of steep, oysters like everything else in Paris, aren't cheap.
  • The rest of the menu features a variety of lobster, scallops, clams, mussels, and crab, all fresh and delicious. If you've got a craving for some seafood but can't stand the seagulls sounds (yes we're serious), you can even take your order to go and eat it in the comfort of your seagull free hotel room.
